We’re aiming to build a self sustaining organisation that can achieve our goals and get us all closer to our vision. To do that, like many new, start-up organisations we need some capital, to feed the team so they can keep working, to improve our programs, start projects, train local people, to visit small communities and promote our ideas and be advocates for the communities we work for.

Unfortunately, we don’t fit neatly into the categories required to enable any donation to our not for profit organisation to be tax deductible. So, in essence, a donation to Living Towns, is even more altruistic than one where there may be some refund to the donor.

You may be from a country town, you may have lived in one, you may understand and believe in what we are trying to do. You may realise that without rural communities our nation will go backwards.

By helping small towns and the communities that provide their life beat you create more resilience in the whole nation. Can you imagine a nation of large cities that imports its food from places like China for instance? How sensible is that? How vulnerable does that make us?

We need your support.

We realise that donating to a cause for regional communities doesn’t have the instant appeal of donating directly to the sick, the destitute or the elderly. However, in each country town there are people who fit these discriptions that would be better off if their community was in better shape, if their town could have the services they needed and provided families with more opportunities to fulfill their own destinies.

We believe that by empowering local economies, to become more local, sustainable, resilient, enterprising, community driven and systems focused local people can empower themselves. You can improve not just the financial aspects of a community but its social, human and natural spheres as well.
