Toodyay’s Business and Community Enterprise Expo, held on March 12, was a shining example of exactly what the expo is all about. Not only did many local people get to find out about businesses they didn’t know existed in their local community, but the businesses themselves managed to network and connect in ways they have not done prior to the expo.
The feedback sheets we passed around to exhibitors says it all;
What were the best aspects of the event?
“finding out just what local businesses are involved in their field and how knowledgeable they are.”
“networking…very positive feel around the room.”
“friendly people and good communication between stall holders and visitors.”
“all displays and presentations excellent. Some outstanding.”
“The realisation that there are so many small businesses within Toodyay that we were not aware of.”
“Great atmosphere, friendly.”
“Everyone worked together!”
“I have 9 parties booked that I may not have if I weren’t here today!”
“Opportunity for local businesses and societies to participate in a worthy event, and to improve and strengthen contacts within the community.”
“Being able to talk to other business people when under normal circumstances this does not occur due to working hours.”
Of the feedback forms receieved, 82% agreed or strongly agreed that they had made new connections in the community. Nobody disagreed and the remainder were unsure. 92% of exhibitors either strongly agreed or agreed that they had connected with some potential new customers or clients, again the remainder were unsure but nobody disagreed.
